Sensei Chris Davis
Founder and Chief Instructor
(4th Dan) Black Belt
My martial arts career began in 1980 Deal in Kent, whilst on my first posting with the Royal Marines. I went along and signed up to Deal Shotokan club, which was to light the path to my martial arts future. I have trained with many different clubs over the years including Judo, Taekwondo, Goju Ryu, kick boxing and even had my own free style club in Taunton whilst serving with 40 Commando RM.

When I left the Marines in 1996 after 17 years, I did nothing for 4 years until my wife signed me up to GKR and it all came flooding back and I achieved my 1st Dan.

I have then trained and graded with many Shotokan clubs and re trained Shotokan as my first discipline. I now run Goshinkan Karate club and Association with the help of family & friends.
I have trained with many clubs in the past, but my journey over the years has taught me many lessons from different Sensei’s. Humility being the most important, respect, the ability to listen and learn even when teaching. We are always students ourselves no matter what grade we are.
